The Anatomage Table is widely used in anatomy education and is used by all kinds of organizations, from high schools to medical schools. We have a clinical library of over 1,000 cases ranging from rare and unique pathologies to common surgical procedures and normal anatomy.
Hundreds of institutions have introduced the Anatomage Table as an anatomical and physiological teaching tool. Each institution has a unique opportunity to include them in its curriculum. Teams of doctors from different departments use it as a point of cooperation to discuss the best way to treat patients.
The anatomage table is able to support the entire diagnostic process and provide a better way for surgeons to plan their surgical procedures. Clinicians use the table as a platform for patient consultation and collaboration between departments and support in diagnosis. Radiologists and doctors work side by side to compare 2D images from CT scans and 3D images, to create an anatomy chart, and to develop ways for surgical interventions, such as.
Students studying health sciences at Montgomery County Community College will use groundbreaking new technology to study human anatomy and physiology this fall. Matthew Kilbride, teaching technology and simulation specialist, demonstrates the new Anatomage Table, available at Blue Bell and Pottstown universities. The virtual 3-D anatomical table offers health science students a new opportunity to study anatomy and physiology.
Cresson, Pa. - Mount Aloysius College has received a $100,000 grant from the George I. Alden Trust to purchase a virtual human dissection table (anatomage) to be used to improve anatomy teaching in college health programs. The table allows students to dissect topics in a 3D environment and solve quizzes with built-in software. Montgomery County Community College acquired two anatomage tables last spring that students and faculty can integrate into their courses.
As for the first-year students, group A will learn anatomage about kidney, ureter, bladder and urethra during practical sessions at the virtual dissection table. Group B will learn the same topics with plastinated copies in practical exercises. Students will use the machine to retreat and explore the layers of the replica body, starting with the skin, muscles, circulation and central nervous system.
There were no significant differences in mean total scores between the three teaching methods, but students expressed a higher attitude to the teaching strategy than an anatomy chart and plastinated model teaching (mean = 1.8, 4.4, 1.83 and 2.04 respectively; F = 12.6). Compared to both teaching methods, there was also a higher positive attitude of the pupils towards the five statements in favour of the anatomical table / plastination model and against the teaching. First-semester medical students appreciated the combination of anatomage table and plastinated prosection in assessing anatomy education in the undergraduate program.
